Skylar Spring

For starters, my name is Skylar Spring. I am a 21 year old student, studying with the Long Ridge Writers Group. I currently live in New York City with my husband, Colin Spring and my family. I am also a new mommy as of December 5, 2011, to a beautiful baby boy named Drake. So if I don't publish much in the next month or so, you know why :)

An interesting fact about me: I am visually impaired. Yes, it's true, I am blind in one eye and have limited vision in the other. I attended a school for the blind for eight years. I love to advocate for the disabled.

I love to write. I've been writing since I was small. I've had some poetry published while in high school. I am currently working on a few novels in my spare time. I am terrible at maintaining a writing schedule, but writing is my passion and I will always find time for it one way or another.

I am hoping to begin a career in writing soon. Hopefully joining the Long Ridge Writers Group will help me achieve that goal. I've always longed to see my work in print. The thought of other people enjoying my writing is so appealing to me. I signed up for Hubpages in hopes that I might get my name out there and practice my writing sklls. My talents lean more toward creative writing (both fiction and creative nonfiction), but I'm enjoying writing informative articles.
