The First Year: The Diary of a New Mom
63Welcome to my Hub Diary
On December 5, 2011 my son Drake was born. Since that day my life has changed in more ways than I can count. Though I don't feel different, everything is different. Things are better, I think. My husband and I are closer. My personality is more relaxed and my temper has cooled down. I'm more responsible now and I worry about everything! I certainly have changed and my husband has too.
Drake is our whole world. He's been a huge inspiration for us and an even bigger blessing. Our little boy has become a great inspiration for our crafts (mine being the written word and Colin's being drawing and illustration).
Part of my inspiration was to keep a sort of hub diary of my experiences as a new mom in these precious first year of Drake's life. This hub is the start of that. It will catalog all the entries to my hub diary.
I will update this hub with each and every diary entry I write. I can't promise to write a new entry at a set time every week/day/month, but I will write as frequently as possible. Each entry will attempt to focus on each week of his life for the first year. Hopefully these hubs will inspire and help other new moms and dads on their own journey through parenthood.
Drake's First Year
Entry One: The Labor & The Birth
This hub is on my rather quick labor and delivery. You'll read about my first feelings of contractions whilst babysitting a seventeen month old and you'll learn about my baby boy's difficult entrance into the world.
Entry Two: Our Time in the Hospital
This hub is about our time in the hospital. You'll read about our visits from friends and families, my worries about Drake getting hurt and a step by step on how to do a circumcision diaper change (just to make this hub a little more useful).
Entry Three: First Few Days at Home
Coming soon...
Entry Four: From Sponge Bath to the Infant Bath Tub
Coming Soon...
Entry Five: Drake's First Christmas
Coming Soon...
Entry Six: Too Many Growth Spurts

Congratulations on your newborn! Each and every moment with them is so precious. I think it's great that you are cataloging these special moments and it's something your baby can one day read.
